MOORS WERE DELIGHTED TO LAND EX BLUES STARLET MITCH HANCOX FROM MK DONS ON 24 MAY 2019.
Born in Solihull, Hancox spent his formative years at Birmingham City. The self-confessed Blues fan showed undoubted potential, featuring for City's reserve team at the age of 15 when he was still a pupil at Lyndon School.
A couple of years later, Hancox achieved his boyhood dream of playing for the Blues, making his first-team debut at home to Huddersfield on 6 October 2012. After a promising debut, Hancox went on to feature 20 more times for Blues that year and as a result, earned himself a three-year contract with the Championship side.
In total, he made 40 first-team appearances for Birmingham but after being loaned out to Crawley Town during the 2015/16 season, Hancox waved goodbye to St Andrew's, signing for Macclesfield in the summer.
During his time with the Silkmen, Hancox was deployed further forward and scored not one but two hat-tricks whilst playing for Macclesfield. As a holding midfielder, he was prolific and his seven goals in 39 games were pivotal in Macclesfield clinching the National League title in 2018.
Despite achieving promotion to League Two, Hancox chose to leave Moss Rose and signed for league rivals MK Dons. However, despite the Dons achieving League One status, Hancox's season was plagued by injury and he only made one appearance during a blighted spell with the club.
After several seasons away from the Midlands, Hancox returned home, signing a two-year deal with Moors.
